Abstract:To foster the development of new quality productive forces and advance the high-quality growth of the modern animal husbandry industry, this paper takes the teaching reforms of the animal medicine majors’ course Veterinary Public Health as an example. Based on the current training plan and the status quo of teaching and learning, this paper further analyzes the existing challenges in veterinary education. Accordingly, this study proposes some suggestions on teaching reforms, such as enhancing instructors’ ideological and political competence, optimizing curricular content, innovating teaching methodologies, refining assessment systems, and improving practical training mechanisms. It also emphasizes the integration of teaching content with humanistic quality cultivation and the integration of innovative pedagogy and practical teaching. Ultimately, this study aims to develop a training model for outstanding agricultural veterinarians, thereby providing theoretical basis for cultivating innovative veterinary professionals in the context of new quality productive forces.
