Abstract:The formation and development of the Hebei-Shandong-Henan Against Japanese Aggression Base Areas presented distinct uniqueness in the pattern of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression behind enemy lines in North China. Compared with the earlier-established Against Japanese Aggression Base Areas such as Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei, Shanxi-Hebei-Henan, and Shanxi-Suiyuan. The Shanxi-Hebei-Henan Base Area was established relatively late. Its establishment process went through a special track of gradual integration of independent regions such as Northwest Shandong, Hebei-Shandong-Henan, and Western Shandong Lake Area. In terms of its founding forces, they included not only the main force units of the 115th and 129th Divisions of the Eighth Route Army, but also the local Party organizations of Hebei, Shandong, and Henan, In this sense, studying this unique establishment model can not only reveal the interactive relationship between the local battlefields and the overall war situation in North China, but also deepen the understanding of the complexity of the history of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Moreover, it can provide a microscopic sample for understanding the practical logic of the New Democratic Revolution in North China.
